If you are involved in an accident, first determine if anyone needs
medical aid, and call for assistance as quickly as possible. Second, be
sure that no dangerous conditions exist, and warn others of any hazards.
When the accident site is safe, collect as much information as you can on the
people involved, witnesses, the vehicles involved, the roadway and weather
conditions, and the policeman's name, department and badge number.
Record the sequence leading up to and during the accident in writing before
leaving the scene. These tips will prove invaluable later when you
contact your insurance carrier.
The most important tip is to always drive safely, an accident can
happen anywhere at any time, and prevention is less trouble than safety.
